Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest 2009 Results - Hot Dog Eating Contest Winners 2009

The world famous Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest is today in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York. The IFOCE Nathan's International July Fourth Hot Dog Eating Contest is an annual competitive eating competition of Independence Day in the United States held at Nathan's Famous Corporation. This is a tradition for every U.S. Independence Day.

The 94th annual Hot Dog Eating Contest contest was held on July 4, 2009. Six-time champion Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi and two-time defending champion Joey "Jaws" Chestnut were the favorites on the contest. Joey Chestnut beat his previous record by 68 hot dogs & buns (HDB) in 10 minutes. Kobayashi was second with 64.5 HDB. Third place is Tim Bertoletti with 55 HDB.


The contest program was live coverage on ESPN Television Channel. The contest Total Cash Prizes $20,650.First prize is $10,000 given to the first place, 2nd Place prize is $5,000, 3rd Place prize is $2,500, 4th Place prize is $1,500, 5th Place is $1,000, 6th Place is $500, 7th Place is $100 and 8th Place is $50 in 2007 Contest.
